ABOUT IDOL HOUR SPORTING COLLECTION

Idol Hour Sporting Collection is a repository for fine sporting literature, art, and history. The name reflects over 200 years of sporting heritage from my family farm, Idol Hour. It also represents the spirit of sportsmanship found in The Compleat Angler. In it, Izaak Walton writes that the outdoor sports, specifically fishing, is "an employment of idle time, not idly spent." This website aims to capture the timelessness, serenity, and beauty of the outdoor sports through original photography and writing.

Idol Hour in 1940

This aerial photo was taken circa 1940, when my great grandfather and grandfather began construction on the farm pond. In 2014, the land was developed, and it now sits under concrete.
